The Singapore Zoo, nestled within the lush Mandai Wildlife Reserve, offers an immersive open-concept wildlife experience and is home to over 4,200 animals. Many habitats use natural features such as vegetation and landscaped barriers to create spacious environments that allow visitors to observe animals in settings inspired by their natural habitats.
Explore the zoo's diverse wildlife zones and encounter iconic residents including free-ranging orangutans, giraffes and many other fascinating species. Beyond simply viewing the animals, visitors can catch engaging presentations such as Splash Safari and Into the Wild, join keeper talks, or take part in selected animal feeding experiences for an even closer encounter.
Families with young children can spend time at KidzWorld – Home of the Ranger Buddies, which features animal interactions, sensory play areas and Splish Splash, a dedicated water-play zone.
To make the most of your visit, consider arriving around the zoo's 8:30am opening time, when temperatures are generally cooler. With plenty of ground to explore, comfortable walking shoes and drinking water are recommended. A tram service is also available to help visitors get around the park more easily.

Singapore Zoo is a great pick for a family day out. The open-concept habitats and greenery make it feel much more natural than a typical zoo, and there’s plenty to see for both adults and kids. Just wear comfortable shoes, bring some water, and be prepared to do quite a bit of walking. Beware of cheeky native macaques.
