The Jewel Rain Vortex is the world's tallest indoor waterfall and one of Singapore's most recognisable attractions. Located within Jewel Changi Airport, it combines a stunning 40-metre waterfall with lush indoor gardens, walking trails, shopping, dining and seasonal installations.
Whether you're on a layover, meeting friends, or simply looking for a unique place to explore, Jewel offers a refreshing escape from the city.
Visit in the evening to catch the free Light & Music Showcase, where the waterfall transforms into a colourful display of lights and music.
Light & Music Showcase is typically scheduled at 8:00pm and 9:00pm from Monday to Thursday, with an additional 10:00pm show on Fridays, weekends, Public Holidays, and Eve of Public Holidays. Showtimes may change, so please check the official website before visiting.
Goliao tips
Honestly, it is still worth visiting even if you have seen plenty of photos before. The Rain Vortex feels much more impressive in person, and the surrounding space is cool, calming, and surprisingly relaxing for somewhere inside an airport.
Do note that the waterfall is located in Jewel Changi Airport’s public area, so transit passengers may need to clear immigration and leave the transit area to see it up close. If your timing works out, consider staying for the evening Light & Music Showcase, when the space feels especially magical.
If you are staying within the transit area, the Skytrain between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 may offer a passing view of the waterfall, depending on the route and operating conditions.
